Baseball and Wiffleball General Structure
** Grades are grade in school when practices start in April. League sizes are based on applications in house on January 31st. Limited openings are left for late sign-ups in each league and will be filled on a first-come, first-in basis. Once leagues are filled, applications will be placed on a wait-list with such applicants being put on teams to replace players who drop-out, move, become injured, etc. League meetings for coaches are scheduled during March and early April. Coaches are asked to notify players within 48 hours of the league meeting. Generally, one or two practices per week until games begin. Generally, no practices once games begin due to limited facilities. Wiffleball and Rookie Coach Pitch practices are 5:30pm and 6:45pm start for 1 hour. Practices for other leagues are generally 90 minutes from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm or from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm Monday through Friday. No Saturday or Sunday practices as not to conflict with Dublin Soccer League or DYA Lacrosse program games. Games are played beginning at 6:00 pm or 6:15 pm Monday through Friday and all day Saturday, beginning in June. Rookie Coach Pitch and Wiffleball games may start at 6:30 pm on weekdays. Sunday afternoons in late June are reserved for make-up games or practices. Game schedule generally begins the third Monday in May and continues through the second week in July for wiffleball, rookie coach pitch, coach pitch, machine pitch. Regular season for other leagues generally ends the first week of July, followed immediately by tournament play. Some Saturday afternoon/evening games in May beginning first week in May. Saturday games in May will be preceded by pictures for teams in playing on the respective Saturdays. No games are scheduled Memorial Day weekend, Memorial Day, or Independence Day. Tournaments begin July 5th and continue through late July, depending on weather. Program FeeFees vary by league. See registration form for specific fees. Fees includes team shirt, hat, 2-in-1 stirrup socks for coach pitch, minor and major leagues, stirups for junior pony, pony, and senior pony leagues. Each wiffleball, rookie coach pitch, coach pitch, and machine pitch player receives an individual participation trophy. In all other baseball leagues the teams play year-end tournaments.
