Requests
For a variety of reasons and experiences, DYA programs do not honor requests. This applies to all recreation programs. The short version is with 300-2,000 participants in team programs, it simply does not work.
The ONLY EXCEPTIONS are as follows:
The head coach in each sport is allowed to name one and only one assistant. The children of the coaches of that team are paired together. So if you absolutely must be with someone, become a head coach. It's fun, but does require a little work.
Brothers and sisters who are playing in the same division of a program, i.e. same league, are placed on the same team, whether by placement or player draft, whichever is the procedure for placing players in a particular division/league.
