The DYA Lacrosse program is for students in the first through sixth grades of the current school year.

Leagues will include separate boys and girls divisions in each of the first-second, 3rd-4th, and fifth-sixth grade leagues.  Final league structure will depend on the number of participants signed up and the number of coaches signed up.

The season will last from mid-March through mid-May.  Participants may march in the St. Patrick's Day parade to kick off the program.  No activity over spring break.

Practices for first and second grade boys league are held on Wednesdays at 5:00 pm (6:00 pm after Daylight Savings begins.)  Practices for other boys leagues are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 pm (6:00 pm after Daylight Saving begins.)  Games and clinics will be held on Sunday afternoons.

Practices for first and second grade girls league will be held on Mondays at 5:30pm (6:00pm after Daylight Savings begins.) All sessions will be held at various Dublin School facilities and Dublin Parks and Recreation facilities, to be announced when contracts are finalized.  The coaching staffs at Coffman and Scioto High Schools will conduct clinics on specific Sundays to be announced at the beginning of the season.

No experience is necessary.  Everyone plays.  Participants are encouraged to play each position. The emphasis is on safety, skill development, team play, fitness, and fun. The league is designed to teach the sport to players and parents.  No contact in girls leagues nor in boys grades 1 and 2.  Stick checks in grades 3 and 4 for boys.  Minor body checking in grades 5 and 6 boys league.

Parents are needed to coach and leagues depend on parent coaches. Training sessions will be provided by DYA to teach the basics. (Our capacity is limited only by parent participation and field availability, so parents don’t be shy about volunteering – no lacrosse experience required. Growth in our program depends on more parents stepping up to assist in coaching!)
