Travel Basketball Eligibility
Teams are available for Boys age 10 & under, 11 & under, and 12 & under and for girls age 11 & under and 12 & under.
Previously, these were called fourth grade, fifth grade, or sixth grade teams.
However, neither is technically correct as league rules in which the respective leagues the boys and girls play have both age and grade restrictions.
Age restrictions: No player may attain the next age (11 for 10 & under, 12 for 11 & under, 13 for 12 & under) by December 1 of the current season.
Grade restrictions: No player may be in a grade higher than 4th for 10 & under, higher than 5th for 11 & under, or higher than 6th for 12 & under.
DYA program eligibility will follow the league rules. The nomenclature on these teams can be tricky because they are not just age group or grade group, i.e. it is not just sixth grade or just 12 & under, but rather both – which is a lot to throw into a name.
The age designation will be used to refer to the respective team, but the grade restrictions will be adhered to as well in determining eligibility.
