DYA Youth Baseball and Softball Umpires DYA's youth umpires program is for Dublin students in grades 7-12. There are three classifications of umpires, based on experience and attendance at training clinics. These are paid positions with umpires earning up to $19 per game plus bonus. In general Class 1 umpires work Bronco Minor and Softball Minor games. Class 2 umpires work Bronco Minor, Bronco Major, Softball Minor, and Softball Major games. Class 3 umpires work Bronco Major, Softball Major, Junior Pony, and Softball Senior games.
*Umpires are paid $15.00 at the game. The difference, along with any bonus earned, is paid at season's end. Umpires who fail to show for a scheduled game forfeit their right to any season bonus, regardless of the number of games worked. **Umpires must attend clinics each year prior to the start of the season to be eligible for promotion in level and pay, regardless of experience. Umpires may be promoted a maximum of one class in a 12-month period. Clinics are conducted by Mr. Dan McGinnis, Central Ohio Umpires' Association. To complete an application to umpire, click here.
